A 1993 Lake Lehman High School graduate, and Franklin and Marshall College 1997 graduate.
Richard, a well rounded student athlete, among his high school accomplishments: class president 1992-93, treasurer 1991-92, and a citizenship award. At F&M, president of Phi Kappa Tau XI Chapter, 1996.
High school accomplishments: All-Tournament basketball team, 1990; Two time Wyoming Valley Conference All-Star 1st Team selection; WVC Coaches Association Division II All-Scholastic, 1991-92; 1273 career points; Jim Atherton Award, 1993; MVP 1992-93 season. During the 1992-93 season, his team advanced to the Eastern Semi-Finals State Playoffs. He led the Wyoming Valley Division II in points per game and 3-point goals made in 1992-93. He was team captain in 1993. He was inducted into the Lake Lehman Basketball Hall of Fame,
2000.
College accomplishments at F&M, team captain 1996-97, received the Lacy Linchpin Award in 1997, led team in minutes played and rebounding, Centennial Conference honor roll 3 times in 1996 and once in 1997. During his time there, F&M was West Division Champions. They advanced to the Sweet 16 three times and advanced to the Final 4 for the 3rd time in team history.
Rich is currently serving as District Sales Manager for Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals. He was a sales representative at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was awarded the 2004 Regional Culture Award.
He resides with his wife Julie and two children, Libby & Reese, in Lancaster, PA.
