About This Inductee

Lundy won 16 letters at Kingston High School in football, basketball, baseball, track. He captained all teams and served as class president / senior year. Lundy was the all-time letter winner in Kingston High four years. He was also president of the Kingston Honor Society his senior year. Lundy was the all-time letter winner in Kingston High Schools athletic history. During World War II, Lundy wrote a letter men’s newsletter that he sent to some 400 Kingston High lettermen in the service all over the world. He was a founder and president of the Kingston Lettermen’s Club for 13 years. He was on the Kingston Board of Education and helped get a new football stadium for Kingston High in 1957. Lundy helped over 100 Kingston athletes go to college. Awards include: citations from President Harry Truman, General Hersey for selective service unemployment work, Governor James Duff for salvage committee work, National Commander of the American Legion for outstanding citizen and many more. For many years, Lundy was P.A. announcer for Kingston’s football games and other sports in the Valley. Lundy passed away in June of 1983. He is survived by his sons, Richard and Lundy, Jr.
