About This Inductee

Glenn Moskosky was a varsity basketball starter for three years at Fell Township High School. He scored 950 career points and was voted best defensive player. He was selected to the All-Northern League All-Star Team in his senior year and also received Honorable Mention All-Regional in his senior year. He attended East Stroudsburg University and graduated with a B.S. in Health & Physical Education, and a Master’s Equivalency in Health & Physical Education. He was the assistant varsity baseball coach for four years at Mid-Valley High School, freshman basketball coach for one year, the assistant varsity basketball coach for one year, and winner of Upper Valley Freshman League in 1971. While at Carbondale Area High School, he was the freshman basketball coach for five years, the assistant varsity basketball coach for seven years, assistant baseball coach for seven years, head baseball coach for five years, and head varsity basketball coach for ten years. His team was the winner of the Lackawanna League Junior Varsity Division in 1978. He has been the athletic director from 1989 to the present. His varsity basketball accomplishments include Lackawanna League Northern Division Champions for five years, 1989-1994; District II Champions in 1993 and 1994; Pennsylvania State II Basketball Final Four in 1991, 1993, and 1994; Pennsylvania State AA Basketball Championship in 1993; Pennsylvania State Runner-Up Class AA in 1994; PIAA State Record, Most Consecutive Wins 59 straight (1993-30-0, 1994-29 1). He was the Lackawanna League Coach of the Year in 1991, 1993, and 1994. He was named the PIAA Small School Coach of the Year in 1993. He has coached two Lackawanna League All-State post season teams. He coached the Pennsylvania Team in the Mid-State Roundball Showcase in Mechanicsburg, Pa. His overall record is 203-67, and his record for the last six years is 164-31. Mr. Moskosky was a PIAA basketball official (Mid-Valley Chapter) for twenty-five years; officiated at PIAA District II Girls State Playoff games; and on the advisory board of the Mid-Valley Chapter. He was a basketball official for three years, and a PIAA baseball official for eighteen years. He coached both baseball and basketball in the Mid-Valley and Carbondale Area for eighteen years. He was a member of the national, state, and local Athletic Director’s Association for eight years. Mr. Moskosky has been active in all aspects of sports serving as an officer of the Junior High Baseball League for two years; President and Treasurer of the Upper Valley 7th & 8th grade Basketball League; Secretary/Treasurer of the Lackawanna Interscholastic Athletic Association; Director of Carbondale Area Co-Ed Basketball Clinic for fourteen years; and has been on the staff of many area baseball camps throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. He has been a member of Elkview Country Club and its golf committee for seven years, and has served as committee member for a number of local area scholarship golf tournaments. Mr. Moskosky is currently Athletic Director and Driver Education Instructor, and retired head basketball coach for Carbondale Area School District.
