Dr. James Hudock

About This Inductee

James Hudock graduated form Tunkhannock High School in 1958 where he earned 15 letters. Jim starred in football, basketball, volleyball, baseball and track. He was involved in just one loss in his high school football career. He was MVP his senior year in football, basketball, volleyball and baseball. He also gained All-Scholastic honors in these sports as well as honorable mention All-State in foot-ball and basketball. He was a spiker on the Tigers First PA State volleyball champions in 1957. As a pitcher in baseball, Jim has the high school record of 25 strikeouts in one game. He also batted .600 his senior year. He could have signed with Detroit, but basketball was to be his forte. He holds the school record for points scored in career 1,898 points where he averaged 25 points per game. His junior and senior year he led the teams to district championships and regional playoffs. Jim had numerous offers in football, baseball and basketball. He chose basketball and University of North Carolina, where he lettered for three years playing under the legendary Frank McGuire, and his senior year, Dean Smith. He captained the team his senior year in which he was second in scoring and first in rebounding. He was second team A.C.C. his senior year. Jim played on many all-star teams in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, winning many tournaments. Upon receiving his dental degree in 1968, he began his practice there and has continued to do so since.
