About This Inductee

At Meyers High School, Dave participated in basketball and tennis. Dave went on to become the most decorated men’s basketball player in Wilkes history. Top ten in over thirty-five categories, he rewrote the record books. As a freshman, he was named Freedom Conference Rookie of the year and Freedom Conference MVP his sophomore, junior and senior years. As a sophomore, he was named Regional Second Team All American, with Wilkes becoming Middle Atlantic Conference and Freedom League champs and Division 3 Final Four runner up. Dave was named Regional and Basketball Times First Team All American and NABC Second Team All-America as a junior, the team again becoming Freedom Conference and MAC champs and Sweet 16 participants. As a senior he was named Regional Player of the Year and First Team All American, Basketball Times and CABC 1st Team All American. They again won the Freedom Conference Championship and were No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. David joined the Atlantic Seagulls of the US basketball league in 2001. He was named First Team All-Tournament in the Triviso Italy Exposure Tourney. He also played with Mabo, Liverno in the Italian A-1 League. He moved on to the Harrisburg Horizon of the EBA in 2002, averaging 24.6 points per game. He was named MVP, First Team All-League, with the undefeated team becoming league champions. He moved to Kinder London Towers as starting point guard, rejoining the Harrisburg Horizon in 2003. Dave was again MVP, First Team All-League, setting a 67 point scoring record. Averaging 29.9 points, he helped lead the team to another league championship. Move ahead to 2018,  Januzzi became co-owner/player of the Wyoming Valley Clutch semi professional basketball team competing in the American Basketball Association which is the largest semi-pro basketball league in the world. The Wyoming Valley Clutch is also a community based business which runs tournaments and clinics for area youth and provides kids the opportunity to train and play travel league basketball year round. In 2022, The Wyoming Valley clutch was ranked number one in the country and played for an overall championship with Januzzi still on the court. Also, in 2022, Dave joined the prestigious list of Wilkes University Hall of Fame athletes to be selected into the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Hall of Fame by becoming the sixteenth Wilkes University Colonel to achieve the MAC’s highest honor.
