About This Inductee

A member of G.A.R. Memorial High School’s 1989 Eastern Conference championship football team, Robert was named First Team All-Scholastic by the Times Leader, Citizens Voice, and Sunday Independent Newspapers; also honorable mention All State. He was a member of the 1989-90 Wyoming Valley and Eastern State College, he was first on the football team in interceptions, pass breakups, third in tackles, and fifth in nation for interceptions, setting a Hudson Valley interception record. Robert was named honorable mention All American. In 1992 at the University of Buffalo, he led the team in interceptions (5), was second in tackles, first in pass breakups. As a senior, he was first in pass breakups, second in interceptions, third in tackles, Top 20 in the nation at punt returns. He was named Sporting News “Player to Watch on the East Coast” as a junior and senior. Following graduation, Robert volunteered as assistant football coach at the University of Buffalo, Lackawanna College and Wingate University. He coached the secondary during the inaugural season of the Wilkes-Barre Pioneers. He has coached the wide receivers and defensive backs at G.A.R. Memorial High School, winners of the “Super Conference” title in 2000 with a record of 8-3. In track at Meyers High, he coached the team to their first Wyoming Valley Conference Championship in 2000 with an undefeated record of 5-0. Currently, Robert resides in Wilkes-Barre area and is the father of a son, Gian.
