Chip graduated from Lake Lehman High School in 1966 where he earned nine varsity letters. He was all-scholastic in baseball and wrestling, and outstanding athlete of the senior class. He went on to Mansfield University and was captain of the wrestling team. Chip taught at Lake Lehman for 32 years. His coaching experiences are numerous, and include head wrestling at Lehman five years and his teams never finished lower than second in A district tournaments. He had three state wrestling champions early in their careers. He was also a wrestling consultant for 20 years. During this time Lake Lehman was the state champion in 1981, and regional champions in 1985, 1990, 1991 and 1995. He was head baseball coach at Lehman from 1996 to 1998 and his team won the Wyoming Valley Conference throughout that time. He coached three players who went on to receive college baseball scholarships, Chip also coached first round draft choice. John Oliver. Chip was the Wyoming Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 1998, and his overall record was 45-9. He coached the Penn State baseball team from 1990-1994 During this time they won the CCAC Championship. two players received Division I baseball scholarships, and his overall record was 98-51. Chip’s most recent coaching position was at Kings College in 2000, 2002. He recruited 25 players that year and almost double the win total in one year. He has played baseball most of his life and was President of the Bi-County League from 1984-1994. He has also umpired baseball since 1995. Chip resides in Dallas with his wife Vera, and their three children Becky. Jesse and Chad.
