Angelo started his baseball career with the Plains Little League, a member of the All-Star and Teener All-Star teams. Angelo attended Plains High School lettering three years in baseball; the team became the Luzerne County Champions. He also lettered three years in football and was named to the Times Leader/Wilkes-Barre Record All Coaches Team in 1957 as a halfback. He was named All-Scholastic by the Sunday Independent and played on the UNICO East Team. He was named to the Plains Hall of Fame in 1992 and is an avid golfer. Prior to retiring, Angelo, along with his brother Leroy, owned and operated Apollo Group, Inc., a construction firm doing business in Luzerne County. After 32 years, Apollo is entering into its second generation of providing service to the community. It is presently being operated by sons Michael and Mark, and nephew Scott Answini. Angelo’s daughter, Cheryl Scavo, also works at the family-owned business. Presently Angelo resides with his wife Carol in Wilkes-Barre.
