Warren Lahr was an outstanding high school football and basketball player who went on to play college and professional football. Lahr went to Western Reserve on a football scholarship, but left to serve three years in the Navy during World War II. In 1946, he came back to Western and became one of the greatest athletes in that school’s history. He was signed by the Cleveland Browns after his college career, and he became an outstanding defensive back in a career that lasted from 1948-1959. He died in 1969 at the age of 45.
