About This Inductee

Tony attended Parsons High School, where he played baseball and basketball. He also graduated from East Stroudsburg Teachers College. Tony is most well known for his coaching abilities. He coached baseball and basketball at Parsons High School and basketball at St. Nick’s and Coughlin High School from 1947 to 1954. Most of his success came while coaching baseball at Coughlin High School. His lifetime coaching record from 1943 to 1968 totaled 258 wins and 91 losses. His city win-loss record from 1943 to 1968 was 68-30, winning 20 city championships (1943-1949, 1951, 1953-1960, 1962, 1965-1966, 1968- a few additional years could not be verified). His teams won 5 league championships (1943, 1948, 1955, 1957 and 1960) and tied once. Tony retired from coaching and teaching n 1968. Tony and his wife Jewel were the parents of three children: Don, William and Barbara.
