Tom attended St. Nicholas/St. Mary’s Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre. He swam for the Catholic Youth Center’s league champions 1996-19967-1968 and was a member of the District 16 Little League Baseball Championship Team for Mayflower in 1972. Tom graduated from Bishop Hoban High School, where he was on the swim team. He was the first District 2 State Swimming Champion. He was a 12 time District 2 medalist, 6 time District 2 champion and 4 time District 2 Team champion (undefeated in league competition 4 years). He won a Bronze Medal in the 50 yard freestyle at the Eastern United States High School Swimming Championships in Lawrenceville, NJ. He was 3 time Pennsylvania All-State Team Honorable Mention selection, 4 time Pennsylvania All-State Team selection, and 2 time Pennsylvania State Champion in 1977 in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. He was also 2 time United States High School All-American in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. He swan on two National A.A.U. Swim teams (Conquistador Aquatic Club in Tucson, Arizona and the Sarasota Aquatic Club in Sarasota, Florida). Tom attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a 3 time N.C.A.A. Swimming Championship Qualifier. While a resident of Seattle, Washington, Tom was swim instructor with the Special Olympics from 1991 to 1998. Tom was previously employed with Major Video Concepts, Inc. in Seattle, Washington as the Western U.S. Region Credit Manager. He was a member of the National Association of Credit Management, Washington, Oregon and Alaska Chapter. He was nominated “Credit Executive of the Year” 1988-1991 and 1991-1998. Tom is currently employed with “Whole Life Health, Inc.” in Scranton. He has been umpiring for the last 4 years with the Wyoming Valley Chapter of Softball Umpires (ASA). Tom resides in Hanover Twp. He has two children, Caitlin and Steven and two grandchildren, Isabella and Sienna.
