About This Inductee
A 1981 graduate of Lake Lehman High School, Rocky excelled in wrestling throughout his high school and college careers.
He was a Junior High District Champ, a high school District Champion and a Northeastern Regional Champion. In 1981, coached by Shorty Hitchcock, Rocky wrestled his way to Pennsylvania State Championship at 119 pounds.
Rocky continued his education and wrestling career at Bloomsburg University where he was a two-time Division I All-American, three-time PSAC State Champ and three-time EWL Champion wrestling at 126 pounds. He also achieved numerous AAU Titles.
Inducted into the Bloomsburg University Hall of Fame in 1999, Rocky maintains the fourth position on the Huskies All-Time win list with a .853 winning percentage and a record of 110-19.
Rocky became a coach starting as an assistant at Bucknell from 1987- 90. From 1990 to 2002. he assisted at Lock Haven where eventually he became head coach in 2003. During those years, his teams were ranked consistently within the Top 25 Division I NCAA. Over those same years, he coached Olympic medalist, Pat McMann and was named EWL Coach of the Year (2005).
Rocky resides with his wife Virginia in Lock Haven. They have four children: Josh, Rachael, Rebecca and Hannah.
