About This Inductee
Marc was a standout athlete at Tunkhannock Area High School where he graduated. Baseball was his forte, lettering for 3 years. As a sophomore he made the All Star Team. His junior year he pitched and has a 7-0 record. He led the conference with batting average of 655. He was 1st team All-Star (outfield) and named league MVP. His senior year butted 404 and made the All Sur first team outfield. In 1986-1988 he played in the Keystone Games Basketball was also a success for Mare scoring 322 points in 63 games and was Captain in his senior year.
He continued his education at Jacksonville and started a freshman. His sophomore year he played in the outfield was the Sunbelt Conference Leading hitter. He has the Nth highest batting average in the US. (439). He was Sunbelt Conference first team All- Star. As a junior at Jacksonville he again made first team All Stars. Also all regionalist team with great statistics with the Summer College League ha made the All-Star Team and was the 3rd leading hitter.
Marc signed with the Cleveland Indians organization in 1991. (Columbus Redstixx Class A he was chosen to the South Atlantic All Star Team and played in Columbus, SC.
In 1993 he went to the Kinston Indians in the Carolina League. He has great stats in the league in doubles (34)and 1st team walks w63, He was selected an team MVP.
In 1994 w/Cleveland- played AA with Canton Akron Indians in the Eastern League where batted 331.
In 1995 he played for the Canton Indians and then up the AAA Buffalo Bisons in the International League. In 1996 he attended spring training with the Cleveland Indians and went 5-6 but was traded to the Yankees at the end of Spring Train He played in the Columbus Clippers where he had a fine season. At the end of the son he retired from baseball and resumed studies at Jacksonville. He helped coach the outfield and was hitting instructor for two years.
Marc continued his education with an M.S. at George Washington University and now works as a therapist at St. Michael’s.
He and his wife Sonia reside in Tunkhannock. They have a child Sofia Alexandra.
