At Coughlin High School, Jerry earned three letters in basketball. As the 1995 team captain, Jerry was top vote getter for Franklin’s East West All Star Classic as the starting first baseman. He started at first base for the 1984-1985 Pocono Region Gold Medal teams at the Keystone Games. At East Stroudsburg University, Jerry earned three letters in baseball, was the #3 hitter and second-year team captain. He was presented the “Coaches Award” for commitment and dedication in 1988-1989. Jerry coached in the Baltimore Orioles Minor League system from 1997-2001. In 1997, the Bluefield Orioles were Appalachian League champs. Since 2002, Jerry has coached in the Cincinnati Reds organization. In the same year, Jerry was named head of King’s College baseball team. Prior to this, he served as head coach at coach at Penn State, Wilkes-Barre Campus, compiling a 224-125 record, leading the Mountain Lions to four conference championships. For 12 years, Jerry managed Orloski’s Collegiate/Semi-Pro baseball team to a 403-144 record. During this time, the teams won 19 league championships. He served as baseball coordinator for the Pocono Region of the Keystone State Games from 1995 to 2001, and was state baseball director in 1997. Jerry also runs numerous baseball camps and clinics in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Jerry was recently honored by American Baseball Coaches Association for his 600th career coaching win (660-303). Jerry and his wife, the former Robin Cardoni, reside in Blakeslee with their children Lisa Mia, age four, and Jerry Don (J.D.), age one.
