About This Inductee

Jamie is the daughter of proud parents Joe and Dorothy Kauczka.  Jamie’s distinguished Wyoming Valley West High School career (1998-2002) was highlighted with her induction into the Wyoming Valley West Sports Hall of Fame in 2019.  She played for Head Coach Rich Nemetz and was a three-year starter and letter winner.  Jamie was named a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 First Team All Star following her sophomore, junior, and senior years.  She helped WVW win three Division 1 Conference Championships and made two prestigious trips to the PIAA state basketball tournament.  Jamie was the first Spartan ever to be named to the Pennsylvania Associated Press PA Big School All-State Team.  She scored 1,332 career points, was the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 MVP, was a three-time Wyoming Valley Conference First Team All Scholastic, was a two-time Times Leader Athlete of the Week, and was named to the prestigious Times Leader 2002 Girls Basketball Dream Team.  As a senior, she led all Division 1 players averaging 18 ppg with 108 field goals, while converting 81% of her free throws.

Jamie accepted a scholarship to Bloomsburg University, where she was a three-year starter and named co-captain her senior year.  She had an outstanding four-year career at Bloomsburg University (2002-2006).  She was a 2nd Team All PSAC selection following her junior year.  She was named to the prestigious 1st Team All PSAC following her senior season, while she led BU in scoring, rebounding, steals, field goals, free throws, and free throw percentage.  Jamie was named the PSAC player of the week multiple times. She is one of only 7 players in BU Women’s Basketball history to score 1100+ points while hauling down 700+ rebounds.  Following her senior year, she was named PSAC “Scholar Athlete”.  Jamie was awarded an NCAA continuation scholarship following completion of her senior year to complete her student teaching requirements prior to graduation.  Jamie obtained a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University and a master’s degree in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University.

Jamie resides in Scott Township with her husband Dominick and sons Mick and Wyatt.  She is an elementary teacher in the Mountain View School District.
