About This Inductee

Holly graduated from John S. Fine High School in Nanticoke where she participated in cross country and basketball. A four-year letter winner, she was a District II Bronze cross country medalist, won three Acon Banquet MVP awards and placed 25th in the PIAA AAA State Meet. She also earned four letters in basketball, winning the 1989 Outstanding Player Award from the Citizens Voice, Division I First Team All-Star (Citizens Voice, Sunday Independent and Times Leader), and the 1989 Acon Banquet MVP Award. In 1990 she was named Outstanding Player by the Sunday Independent, Division First Team All-Star (Sunday Independent, Times Leader and Citizens Voice) and won the Acon Banquet MVP award. She also won second team All-State honors, was twice WNEP’s Sports Star of the Week, and All-time leading scorer (1693 points). The team went 82-3, setting a team record, wining an AAA State title, three District II titles and four Wyoming Valley Conference titles. She continued to excel in basketball at Lock Haven University, where she was named 1992 second team PSAC All-Conference, 1993 first team PSAC All-Conference and 1993 second team ECAC South. She won the 1993 and 1994 team MVP awards. In 1994 she was named second team ECAC South and won the Charlotte E. Smith Award for Top Women’s Athlete of the Year. Again she was twice named WNEP’s Sports Star of the Week and was PSAC Player of the Week eleven times. She was the second all-time leading scorer with 1653 points. She holds the following records: most points scored in a game (39), most free throws in a game (13 of 13); first in free throws made (431), second in free throw percentage (.782), second in points averaged per game (16), second in field goals made (580), fourth in 3 point percentage (.353), fourth and fifth scoring seasons (512 & 497 points), eleventh in field goal percentage (.5129). Holly is presently employed at InterMetro Industries Corporation in Wilkes-Barre as a senior staff accountant. She resides in Shickshinny with her husband Chris and step-daughter Natashja.
