About This Inductee

Carl Dorko graduated from G.A.R. High School, Wilkes-Barre, in 1953. He played JV and varsity football for four seasons and was best known as a tough single wing guard. He was named Wyoming Valley All Scholastic in his senior year and played in the first East-West Unico Game in 1952. He was also a member of G.A.R.’s wrestling team. Carl went on to attend Harvard University on a football scholarship, playing JV football in 1953. He transferred and graduated from the University of Scranton in 1958. He then furthered his medical education at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, graduating in 1962. He did his internship and residency at Harrisburg Hospital from 1962-1966. He also served in the U.S. Air Force in 1966. Carl presently practices medicine full-time in Harrisburg. He is a Diplomat of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. Dr. Carl and his wife Joan reside in New Cumberland, PA.
