About This Inductee

Amanda Faust grew up in Larksville and attended Wyoming Valley West High School where she graduated in 2005.  She began her high school career as a three-sport athlete, playing field hockey, basketball, and softball, but chose to focus on field hockey in her junior and senior year.  Amanda lettered in varsity field hockey her sophomore to senior year and was a starter on the Wyoming Valley West field hockey’s state championship team in 2003.

Amanda attended Bucknell University to continue her education and field hockey career.   She had an immediate impact on the program starting at center back on opening day. During her freshman season, Amanda registered 6 defensive saves, ranking her 7th in the nation.  She was also named Second Team All-Patriot Patriot league and Patriot League Rookie of the Year.  In her sophomore, junior, and senior season Amanda received First Team All-Patriot league honors.  Amanda also became the first Bucknell field hockey player to receive three First Team All-Region citations.

Although Amanda was a defensive player, she was an integral part of the team’s offensive efforts as the striker on penalty corners.  At the top of the circle, Amanda would run set plays designed to create scoring opportunities for herself or her teammates.  Amanda finished her field hockey career placing in the program’s top 10 offensive career records.  She ranks third in career points with 92, sixth in goals with 29, and first in assists with 34.  To this date, Amanda still holds the record for the most career assists with 34.

After graduating from Bucknell in 2009, Amanda pursued her passion for field hockey by coaching club.  From 2009 to 2016, Amanda coached athletes aged 12 to 18 at various USA national field hockey events.  While Amanda’s coaching career ended in 2017, when she pursued an overseas job opportunity, she still stays involved in the sport by following Bucknell Bison field hockey with her teammates.  Although Amanda last stepped on the field as a Bison in 2008, she was named to the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team in 2015 and inducted into the Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.  Amanda credits much of her success on and off the field to her mom and stepdad.  Amanda currently resides in Philadelphia, PA and is an auditor for the Department of Defense.
