Born and raised in Pittston, Pennsylvania, Allie Barber’s journey in athletics began long before she ever stepped onto a varsity field. Some of her earliest memories are rooted in sports—sitting in a gym watching her brother wrestle, bundled up as a baby during winter matches, or running laps around the track while her sister competed. She also spent countless hours traveling with her mother from gym to gym and field to field, supporting her siblings and soaking in the atmosphere of competition. Watching her father coach wrestling and being constantly surrounded by sports made athletics more than just an activity—they became a cornerstone of her family’s identity.

At Pittston Area, Barber developed into a dedicated multi-sport athlete. On the soccer field, she earned Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association All-State honors in 2013 while scoring 159 career goals and adding 41 assists. In her senior year, she helped lead the program to its first District II Championship. Her success extended to the basketball court that same year, where she surpassed 1,000 career points and helped secure the program’s first District II title, marking a historic season for Pittston Area athletics. She was also a three-year letter winner in track and field, contributing to the team and demonstrating her commitment as a versatile athlete, even without individual awards.

Barber continued her soccer career at Bloomsburg University, where her consistency, leadership, and work ethic defined her collegiate experience. She started or appeared in every game throughout her career, demonstrating both durability and commitment. In addition to her success on the soccer field, she walked onto the basketball team and competed for one season as a two-sport collegiate athlete. During her time there, she helped lead the Huskies’ soccer program to a regular season championship, a conference tournament championship, a PSAC championship, and an Atlantic Regional championship, as well as an Elite Eight appearance. As a senior, she played a key role in one of the most successful seasons in program history for Bloomsburg soccer.

Her individual accolades reflect her outstanding soccer career at Bloomsburg. Barber was named a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American and a First Team Scholar All-American, while also earning Bloomsburg’s Eleanor Wray Senior Female Athlete of the Year and Outstanding Senior Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. A multi-time All-PSAC and All-Region selection, she finished her soccer career with 19 goals and 20 assists and started 59 consecutive games to close out her collegiate career.

While her accomplishments are meaningful, Barber’s journey is rooted in the people and experiences that shaped her along the way. The lessons learned from family, early mornings, long drives, and an unwavering support system continue to guide her. Representing both Pittston Area and Bloomsburg has always meant more than the game itself — it reflects the communities that supported her from the very beginning. She carries that pride with her and will always be both a Proud Patriot and a Husky.
