About This Inductee

Maureen Graduated from Bishop O’Reilly High School. She was a 4 year starter in basketball scoring 1,000 points and was named MVP in her senior year. Maureen made the All-Scholastic team 3 years. At O’Reilly, Maureen also participated in volleyball, field hockey, softball and flag football, helping the O’Reilly team to win the Wilkes-Barre Flag Football League Championship twice. She was the first recipient of the Queenswoman of the Year Award in 1974. At Luzerne County Community College (LCCC), Maureen was a 2 year starter and leading scorer in basketball. In her sophomore year, the team won the conference championship and Maureen was voted MVP. LCCC won the NJCAA Regional Tournament twice and played in the National Tournament both years. While at LCCC, she also played 2 years of softball. At Slippery Rock State College, Maureen played basketball for 2 years with the team going to regionals both years. Maureen participated in various fast pitch, modified and slow pitch softball leagues for over 30 years. Shew as a member of the Larksville Trophy Team that won the Class B State Women’s Softball Championship and also participated in the National Tournament. Maureen coached basketball at LCCC for 10 years winning one championship, volleyball for three years wining one championship, and softball for 6 years. She served as assistant basketball coach at Nanticoke Area High School and also coached at Holy Child and Gate of Heaven Schools. Maureen was involved in Plymouth Boys Little League for 16 years. Maureen resides in Plymouth.
