About This Inductee

Bill earned six (6) letters at Wyoming Area High School in football and track. As a Sophomore Defensive Back, he was named Wyoming Valley Conference Honorable Mention/All-Scholastic. As a Senior, he was named as an All Scholastic Defensive Back in the Big 11 by an Upper Valley Newspaper and was one of the leagues top scores. He was voted Most Valuable Back by the Pittston Elks Club in his Senior year. He led Wyoming Area in interceptions and fumble recoveries as a Sophomore and in touchdowns as a Junior and Senior. Bill was a 1969 graduate of Wyoming Area to receive a Division I Scholarship. Bill started as a Wide Receiver and Defensive Back as a Freshman at Temple University in 1969, the first Temple Freshman team to go undefeated in over 30 years. He was a starter and lettered as a Sophomore, Junior, and Senior. He was a member of the first Triple TTT class at Temple University. To be a member, you had to be a three-year letterman on three (3) consecutive winning teams. He was a member of the Football Academic Honor Roll at Temple. Bill was the first inductee into Wyoming Area’s Ring of Pride in September of 1998. He coached the Defensive Backs at Wyoming Seminary from 1996 through 1998. Bill was chairperson of the Wilkes-Barre Chapter of UNICO’s Annual East/West Football Game on numerous occasions from 1984 through 2004. Bill resides in the Wyoming Valley with his wife Tina, and their three children: William, Jamie, and Alana.
