Sara Silvetti of Dorrance Township began playing field hockey when she was 12 years old.  In 2000 she graduated from Crestwood High School where she earned varsity letters in soccer and field hockey.  During her senior year Sara served as Tri Captain of her varsity field hockey team that won the AA State Championship.  She scored the goal to put them into sudden death overtime and added the winning assist.  During high school, Sara, was a three-time All-State selection, and in 1999 was named a First Team All-American and the Wyoming Conference MVP.  She helped the Comets to an impressive 69-5-1 record during her career.

In 2000 Sara accepted a partial scholarship to the University of Maryland (UMD) to play field hockey-that soon turned into a full athletic scholarship.  During college she competed in three ACC Finals, three NCAA Final Four tournaments, and one NCAA Championship. Sara served as co-captain during both her junior and senior years.  She was named to the NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region squad during her junior and senior years and given ALL-ACC nods and second team All-American status while a senior.  Sara was also asked to play in the North/South Senior All-Star game, which facilitated the invitation to try out for the USA National Field Hockey Team.

In 2005, Sara graduated from UMD with a BS in Public and Community Health and was accepted into the American University School of Public Health Management using an ACC Postgraduate Scholarship.  However, she chose to play for the USA National Field Hockey Team for the next five years.  She played in the 2006 World Cup where the team placed sixth out of twelve teams.  Sara also played in the Australian Hockey League while living in Tasmania in 2009.  She recorded over one hundred caps (games) for her country and was named USA Olympic Team Alternate for the 2008 Beijing Summer Games.

Currently Sara lives in Islamorada, Florida, which is in the Florida Keys.  She and her life partner, Karri, own and operate a successful business selling souvenirs at the world-famous Robbie’s Marina.  Sara wants to sincerely thank her family, friends, teammates, and coaches for their unwavering support that allowed her to turn her dreams into reality.
