Robert began his sports career at West Hazleton High School, where he earned 3 varsity letters from 1972 through 1974. He was named first All-League in 1974 and was baseball team captain. He continued his baseball career at Lockhaven University and earned varsity letters in 1977 and 1978. He was a second team All-Conference selection in 1978 and was also team captain in 1978. Robert has spent 19 years teaching in the Hazleton Area School District, first teaching civics and geography, and now teaching psychology at Hazleton Area High. Robert has spent 10 years as head girls basketball coach at West Hazleton High School, with a winning record of 263 vs. 88 losses. His teams have won 2 District XI Class AAA Championships and twice were runner-ups. They also appeared in one PIAA Eastern Final and 8 PIAA State playoffs, winning the Schuylkill League Championship once. Robert also coached boys junior varsity basketball at West Hazleton High School. Robert has also aided local youth sports by functioning for 10 years as a Valley West Little League baseball coach, 4 years Valley West Minor League baseball coach, 2 years Valley Babe Ruth League baseball coach, and 2 years C.V.C.O. Youth basketball coach. Robert resides in Conyngham, Pa., with his wife and children.
