Nora played varsity volleyball, softball and basketball at Dallas High School. An All Star, she was a member of the 1978 Wyoming Valley Conference Softball Championship team. In basketball, the team members were undefeated champions in 1975-76, also winning numerous tournaments. An All Star in 1979, she was also named to the All Scholastic team. At Elizabethtown College, she again played three varsity sports: volleyball, softball and basketball. In 1981 the basketball team became MAC champs; in 1982, Division III National champs; and 1983, Division III runner-up. Co-captain of the team, Nora won the Dr. Claire McCullough Award in 1983 as Elizabethtown’s Top Female Athlete. A teacher and basketball coach with the Penn Manor School District, she was nominated for “Outstanding Educator of the Year” every year 1984-88. Her teams were the Elizabethtown Recreation Commission Champions in 1984 and 1986. In volleyball, she coached the Penn Manor Girls team 1992-95 and played on several recreational league teams. In 1996, Nora was inducted into the Elizabethtown College Hall of Fame. She also has been involved with various summer softball and recreational leagues, becoming ASA State champions in 1979 and runner-ups in 1980 and 1996. She has played indoor soccer and acted as assistant soccer coach for a recreational league. Nora and her husband reside in Lancaster with their children: Shane, Ariel and Sarai.
