Miller was a Diamond Belt boxing champion in 1939, and after reaching the Golden Gloves finals turned professional. During his distinguished 15 year career, Miller boxed in the lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions. A hand injury suffered outside the ring cost him a shot at world champion Fritzie Zivic. Miller was inducted to the Wyoming Valley Boxing Hall of Fame in 1985.
