“Little Bill” Phillips

About This Inductee

Phillips was one of the Valley’s first radio broadcasters, and coined the phrase “Valley With a Heart.” He was well known as a humanitarian who raised money for children needing medical treatment and families needing food. Phillips is best remembered for his efforts to raise money for a 17-year-old girl whose back was broken when a truck in which she was riding overturned. He died in 1960 at age 58.
