About This Inductee

Lee competed on the Meyers High School track team for four years and was track’s District 2 Class A champion in the 100 yard dash (10 seconds), the 220 (22.4 seconds), and the 180 low hurdles (20.8 seconds). He was also on their football team for four years and as a senior was named First Team All-State Scholastic. He helped the 1962 team finish 10 – 0 for its second straight unbeaten season. As a senior, Lee rushed for 1,168 yards on 107 carries (10.9 yards a carry) and scored 13 touchdowns. He led the nation in rushing and “Coach and Athlete” magazine of Atlanta, sponsors of the National High School Prep All-American football team, named him the top high school rusher in the nation. His 1962 team was voted one of the Top Ten High School Teams to ever play in the Wyoming Valley by The Times Leader Newspaper. Lee states “I played with a lot of great guys and athletics have taught me many lessons in life which have stayed with me to this day.” At the University of Maryland, he played football two years, followed by two years on the Wilkes University football team. Presently employed at West Side Area Vocational Technical School, he resides in Wilkes-Bane with his wife Juanita. They have two children, Angela Falzone and Tara Namey.
