About This Inductee

Joe attended Wyoming Area High School where he earned three varsity letters in football. Team captain, he was First Team All-Conference his junior and senior years and selected to play in the UNICO Game. HE was named a Sunday Independent All-Scholastic team member. He was a member of the Wyoming Area Warrior track and field team 7th-12th grade. He was junior high district champion in the triple jump and junior high district medalist in the long jump and 100-meter dash. He was varsity district champion in the long jump, setting a WA school record. He was a varsity silver medalist in the triple jump, district medalist in 100-meter dash, tying a WA school record. Team captain, he was selected All-Conference and selected as the Sunday Dispatch Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Joe finished one of 11Currently he is a varsity assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator. He is also Wyoming Area’s head track and field coach, a position he has held for the past 10 years. His record is 64-5-1, winning the Wyoming Valley Conference eight years, the District II AAA championship once and the James Cross Wilkes-Barre Invitational twice. The team was awarded the first annual James Fisher Sportsmanship Award in 2005. He has coached athletes that have broken over 100 school records in 12 of the 18 events for boys and girls, and several state medalists. He is a member of the PA Scholastic Football Coaches Association and the PA Track and Field Coaches Association. He was inducted into Wyoming Area’s Ring of Pride in 2008. Joe is currently working as an elementary health and physical education teacher for the Wyoming Area School District and serves as an Exeter Borough Councilman. Joe resides in Exeter with his wife Rhonda and children, Rocco 7, Bianca 6, and Talia 1.
