Ed “Bull” Lipski graduated from Larksville High School in 1955, where he excelled as a fullback and halfback. Ed was an All-Scholastic senior and a UNICO All-Star, helping the West win for the first time. Ed had his choice of more than 20 colleges to pick from. He decided to attend the University of North Carolina, where he was their starting fullback and utility halfback for three years. As a junior he averaged 3.8 yards per carry. However, Ed missed his senior season due to a recurrence of a pelvic injury. He was a member of the Monogram Club and graduated in 1960 with a BS in History. Ed was head football coach at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Ed is now retired and resides with his wife, the former Rose Marie Strish, in Shavertown. They have two children, Christine and Lori. They have three grandchildren.
