Eddie White has spent over 45 years in sports communications and marketing promoting coaches, athletes and events on multiple levels including small college and major university; amateur and professional sports; small business and global footwear companies; and, he’s even hosted a radio show in Indiana for ESPN.

The East End native graduated from Bishop Hoban and went on to Wilkes, where he earned an English degree. But that’s not all he did as a collegian. He was the school’s sports information director his junior and senior years while balancing duties as sports editor of the school’s paper and co-sports director of the radio station. He found time to work as a stringer for the local paper and wrote a weekly sports column. He was also President of the Journalism Society.  After graduating, he stayed at Wilkes as full-time SID before moving on to the University of Notre Dame, where he served as Asst. SID for four years.  He joined the Miami Dolphins, becoming only the third person ever to be hired as an NFL team’s head of PR, who came directly from an assistant position in college.

While at Notre Dame, he wrote an in-depth series, “Academics & Athletics: A Winning Combo” that was judged best in the nation by the Missouri School of Journalism.  White was named “Alumnus of the Year” at Wikes in 2001.

Following three years in South Florida, he moved to Indiana to work for sportswear company, Logo 7/Logo Athletic.  That company became part of Puma; then Reebok, where  for 20 years he worked with every owner, coach and GM in the NFL, NBA, WNBA and NFL Europe. Reebok eventually became a part of Adidas and after a few years, White left to become part of the first all-sports radio station in Indy on ESPN The Fan, hosting the afternoon drive show. Three years on the air led to a gig on the Indy Super Bowl host committee and then he landed at Pacers Sports & Entertainment, where for the last 15 years he has worked for the Pacers and the Fever in various media/PR capacities. He currently hosts Pacers Overtime, the radio post-game show for the team.

White resides in central Indiana with his wife, Angela, a member of the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame; a former All American at George Mason who also played on the US National Team. She is currently the head women’s soccer coach at IU Indianapolis.  They have one son, E.J., a graduate of DePauw University who earned two master’s degrees at the University of Indianapolis, where he led his baseball team to back-to-back Division II World Series as one of the nation’s top relief pitchers.

Eddie is the son of the late Ed White, Jr. His mom, Rose, lives in Florida near his sisters, Gina Klepadlo and Joy White Stashis.  Eddie’s grandfather, legendary Wilkes-Barre Barons coach Eddie White, Sr., was inducted into the Luzerne County Hall of Fame in 1986.
