Dr. Michael Koury

While a student at G.A.R. High School, Michael was an outstanding wrestler. He was a three-time District champion in 1963, 1964 and 1965 and Regional Champ in 1964 and 1965. He went on to graduate from Kent State University, earned his Master’s at Millersville University and his Doctorate of School Psychology and Special Education at Lehigh University. From 1990 to 2005, Dr. Koury was a Director of Special Education with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. He is presently an adjunct instructor in the Department of Education at King’s College and Director of Education and a consultant at the Children’s Service Center. He is a former board member of the Drug and Alcohol Counsel, Luzerne County Health Services Agency, Family Services Association, Human Relations Commission and the Reach Program. He resides in Wilkes-Barre with his wife, Dr. Rochelle Koury, and their son Milkey.
