About This Inductee

Brominski was captain of the football team when he attended Wyoming Seminary, and in 1915 went on to captain the football team at Blair Academy. As boxing was not then a gentleman’s sport, school officials never knew of his pugilistic interest. From there, he entered the army and joined the boxing team at Fort Meade. His boxing career was highlighted by his fight against welterweight champion Jack Briton. Brominski graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1920. He practiced dentistry in Swoyersville, and died in 1943 at the age of 49 while serving his third term as mayor of that town.
