About This Inductee

Dave graduated from Bishop O’Reilly High School in 1983, starring in basketball. He was All Scholastic Wyoming Valley Conference second team 1979-1980; All Scholastic Wyoming Valley Conference first Team 1980 to 1983; Wyoming Valley Conference MVP 2 seasons; First All-State Basketball Team 1980-1983; First Team Parade Magazine High School Boys Basketball All-American; first team McDonald ‘s All-American and first team of first annual USA Today Newspaper All-American Boys Basketball Team. He was a starting member of the PA All-Stars Dapper Dan Roundball Classic in 1983. Dave played basketball at the University of North Carolina from1983-1987; team record was 115 wins and 22 losses, twice undefeated in ACC league play. He won the Foy Roberson Award in 1986-1987 and the Herb and Pauline Wall Memorial Award given to the best screener in 1986-1987. He was a fourth-round draft of the Detroit Pistons in 1987. Dave played for A.S. Monaco in the first division of Frances pro basketball l league, leading the team in rebounding. He played for the LA Clippers, Albany Patroons in the CBA, and the Miami Heat. He played in the first Spanish pro league for Granada, Spain in 1989-1990; where he was second leading scorer on the team. In 1990-1991, he played for the Boston Celtics; then the CBA for Birmingham, Alabama and the Milkwaukee Bucks. Dave retired in 1992 and he and his fiancé Holy Jafulevicz reside in Ashley, PA. In 2024, Dave was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
