About This Inductee

At College Misericordia, Chris Wadas a 4-time MVP, NCAA Mideast All-Region selection, 3-time PAC individual conference champion, 4 time All-Conference and helped lead the team to 4 PAC team titles. In track and field. He was the 2005 team MVP and All-ECAC in the 10,000 meters. In indoor track he set the school record at 1500 meters. Currently he holds top 10 times at 1000 meters, 1 mile. 3000 meter and 5,000 meters. In outdoor track he holds the 3,000 meter school record and is on the all-time Misericordia top 10 list at 1500 meter. 5,000 meters, 3,000 meters and 10,000 meters. Chris is a member of the Misericordia University Athletics Hall of Fame and was the 2004 Misericordia University Wendy’s Athlete of the Year. Post college Chris ran for the Inside Track Running Store, Keystone Track Club and the National Running Center. Chris has finished in the top 20 of the Berwick Run for the Diamonds 13 times and finished in the top 10 3 times. He Placed in top 30 of the Famous 2008 Philly Rock and Roll half marathon with a time of 1:09.11. He finished in the top 10 of the Ausherman 5 Miler 3 times with times of 25:04,25:32 and 25:53. He was a top 20 finisher and the 3rd American finisher at the 2009 New Jersey Road 10k Championship the Newport 10,000 in a time of 31:58. He was a two time winner of the LVRR Superbowl 10k with a best time of 32:28. He was a two-time top 20 finisher in the Blue Cross / Blue Shield Broad Street Run (10 miles) with times of 51.48 and 52:01. Chris also finished in the top 5 is only two times running the Lehigh Valley Saint Luke’s Half Marathon. Locally Chris was a winner of the Wyoming Valley Triple Crown. He won the Wilkes Barre YMCA Bernie’s run 5 times, The Old Fort 5 miler 7 times, The West Pittston 4 miler 9 limes and The River Street 3 mile races 6 times. Chris has the 5k course record at Lake Carey with a time of 15:25. Coaching – In his 13 years coaching at Misericordia University his teams have won 10 MAC Conference titles, 4 in cross country, 4 in indoor track and field and 2 in outdoor track and field. In addition, his teams have won 1 PAC Men’s title in Cross Country, and 1 women’s outdoor ECAC title. Chris was named two-time NCAA Mideast Regional Head Coach of the Year. Chris was named MAC Coach of the Year 10 times in his 13 years (4 times cross country, 4 times indoor track and field and 2 times outdoor track and field). Chris has coached 14 athletes to the NCAA Championship births, 6 All-Americans and 2 Nationals Champions. Chris is the son of Lou Ann Middaugh and Mark Wadas. Chris resides in Swoyersville, PA with his wife Krista who is expecting their second son in November along with their son Tanner.
