About This Inductee

Chris played baseball, basketball and football for four years at Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre. The basketball team won the Regan Memorial Tourney in Scranton, the Rogers Memorial Tourney in Wilkes-Barre in 1973 and the C.Y.C. Tourney in 1973 and1974. Chris played one year of football at Wyoming Seminary and four years at Wilkes College where he was named First Team Defensive End Middle Atlantic Conference in 1977. Chris has earned numerous powerlifting titles. In 1992-1995-1997-1999, he captured the Powerlifting Championship in the 198 lb. weight class. In 1994 and 1996 he was the National Deadlift Champion and in 1994 the North American Powerlifting Champion in the 198 lb. weight class. In 1994-1996-1997 he was the PA State Powerlifting Champion. In 1995 he was named National Lifetime Drug-Free Powerlifting Champion in the 198 lb. weight class (open to athletes who are steroid free on a lifetime basis). Records held by Chris include the 1997 National Deadlift record in the Master’s Division (622 lbs.); Deadlift National Championship meet record; National Deadlift Master Division (644 lbs. in the 220 lb. weight class); National Deadlift Open Division record (661 lbs. in 1996 in the 220 lb. weight class); 1997 PA Squat Event Master Division (606 lbs. in the 198 lb. class); PA State Deadlift Master Division (666 lbs. in 198 lb. class) and the 1997 PA State record for total weight lifted (1697 lbs.). Chris was ranked #1 in the US Powerlifting Masters Division, 198 lb. class, by Clean Power Magazine and #7 US Powerlifter in the Open Division. Chris’s all time competition-best lifts in the 198 lb. class are 622 lbs. squat, 418 lb. bench press and 666 lb. deadlift; in the 220 lb. class, 650 squat, 460 lb. bench press and 690 lb. deadlift. His all-time bests are 675 lb. squat, 460 lb. bench press and 730 lb. deadlift. Chris currently resides in the Wyoming Valley.
